| Review: ViGlance is lightweight application designed to bring new features to your Windows Taskbar. The program is aimed at Windows XP and Vista users who can take advantage of some opportunities in Windows 7. The first feature that stands out immediately after you installed the program is the transparency effect applied to the taskbar. A productivity booster is the ability to view thumbnails of open windows in a given program to place the cursor over the icon in the system tray. If you are working with multiple documents is much easier to select one of them quickly preview on content rather than reading its title. The thumbnails generated by the program also displays the title of the window, which comes in handy because the thumbnail is not always visible. Turns application shortcuts to the taskbar is another feature in Windows 7 that ViGlance can bring to XP or Vista, through the context menu. Same menu, you can minimize, restore or close all the windows of the group with just one click. The program also allows you to take down a particular program or to clean the whole covered items from the options window. Finally, you can change the picture on the Start button with a copy of the Windows 7 Start button. This does not change the Start menu or function key and is intended to replace the classic green button with a more modern one. Although it looks better, you should know that it prevents the context menu that allows you to access the properties of the taskbar and the Start menu. The installer program tries to download other toolbars and programs that do not improve their functionality in any way. If you do not have these programs, you can reduce their setup when you setup ViGlance. ViGlance is compact and has no impact on PC performance, because both memory and CPU utilization is negligible. But it is useful mainly for Windows XP computers because the later versions already include some of the features. |
